Another new model upgraded with the new style elevator arms as seen on the T-Rex 700 so doing away with the anti rotation bracket, plus comes with new swash to match. Also the same push pull links as as the 700. New side frames layout, complete metal head as standard and new High Torque 650 motor, torque tube tail and a set of Align carbon blades and paddles. Could have been more original on the canopy, but theres time for that to change. Prices and release dates are TBA.

Ok here we go again - if you have been guessing what Align can do next and its a micro heli - the T-Rex 250 has been announced and is in the design stage at the moment, due out in October/November - so we all know whats going to be on the Christmas list !

 Well the UK's largest scale electric heli went for its first flight this weekend, even though it was a little breezy. See the video as well.
The controls need to be calmed a little, if you watch you can see when I move my fingers a little too far!!
Sounded well and the strobes stand out even in the bright conditions. Hovers at 40Amp according to the EagleTree FDR. Calculating flight times at around 20mins. Pictured right is me and the EC, next to my Trex600n for size comparison.
This was just part of 8.5mins flight.

Futaba 6EX Exchange Programme, if you bought a set from us please check below, you may be in the line for a NEW TX for FREE, from Futaba.
Ripmax are pleased to announce that with immediate effect we are instigating a full exchange programme for all early 6EX 2.4GHz transmitters. As we have widely publicised, a small number of early 6EX 2.4GHz transmitters had been incorrectly coded, which could have caused problems if two of these sets had been in operation together. The actions we took at the time meant that any potential issues were resolved, however we have taken the decision that the only 100% secure course of action long term is to remove all of the early transmitters from the market and replace with updated transmitters.
As we are now well into the flying season we want to ensure that owners of these transmitters do not miss out due to their transmitters being on their way back to us, particularly if large numbers arrive back to be dealt with at the same time. To avoid these possible delays, the exchange will be carried out via your local model shop, where you will bring your old transmitter, and receive the new replacement. The way this will work is detailed below.
IMPORTANT NOTE
6EX transmitters bought more recently will be of the new type, and are identical to the new replacement transmitters now being sent out. To identify if your transmitter is of the old or new type please compare the images, where you will see that the new type carry an “I” sticker – the old type do not have this sticker, and should be returned for replacement.
1. Click on the link to be taken to the exchange sign-up page .
2. Complete the form on the page, with your details and the serial number of your set.
3. When we receive the completed form, you will be re-directed to a confirmation page.
4. Within 10 working days after completion of the form you will receive an e-mail advising when your replacement transmitter will be available at the shop you have selected.
5. As of this date, bring your old transmitter with you to the shop, where the serial number will be checked, after which you will be given your replacement transmitter.
Below is an example of a transmitter that is eligible for the exchange program.
Those sold more recently will have the 'I' sticker (as shown on the
following image) and does not need to be exchanged.
3DX Championships This year were a sponsor of the 3D Championship 2008 which will be held on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st
September 2008 with a fun-fly on Friday 19th for everyone to come along
and fly or watch. Plus I get to have my trade stand there as well.... ! See you there.
There will also be a night flying competition
held on the Saturday night so get out your glow rope and night blades
and get practicing!
There is an entrance fee of just £2 per adult this year - children come in free when accompanied by a paying adult!
The venue is Croft Farm Waterpark (view their website here)
in the River Avon valley. It has some excellent facilities for the
whole family, including watersports, a fitness centre with gym, sauna
and sunbeds, a licensed clubhouse (a bar!) and walking/sight seeing in
the surrounding area of Tewkesbury. Plenty more details on their
website - bring your family and make a weekend of it!
The facilities also include toilet and shower blocks (free to use) along with electric hookups for those needing them.
Camping and caravan charges are available on their website.
We have also arranged for cooked breakfasts to be available from 8AM on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

our buddy lead system if you wish - these are at our local flying site.

We can book lessons from 10.00am - 1.00pm and from 2.30pm till
Dusk - during BST this will be as late as 8.30pm but on Monday -
Friday's only, Saturday and Sunday from 12.00 noon till 5pm.
Buy as many hours as you think at a time then we will book the dates with you later on the phone as you wish....
Even if your only flying a Trex450 you will benefit from a lesson and it may save you money in the long run... A complete novice will normally be able to hover, land and take-off safely with 10 - 1 hour lessons without having a crash, and what does the average crash cost!!!
So hopefully this summer I'll introduce some new pilots to the world of helis.
